Offered for sale is a Hillerich & Bradsby model O1 likely ordered by the Boston Red Sox in the late 1950s either for use by Ted
Williams or another player on the team. Williams did order the O1 model in the late 1940s, but those orders did not continue into
the 1950s. This bat may be from 1958 as it appears to have a center label defect present during that year.

This 35", 33.3 oz gamer shows evidence of excellent use. Several ballmarks and seam impressions are visible on the left and back
barrel surfaces and a few cleat marks are scattered about. Additionally a few names have been written on the sweet spot which
are visible when closely examined. The handle was cracked and repaired. It appears to have been taped as ghosting is present.
The knob is stamped with the model number (O1) and there is some mostly illegible writing in both black and green marker. It
looks to have the name "LOU" in green.

This 1950s Williams pro model displays beautiful and would benefit from a bit of restoration on the handle. Unlike the numerous
34" index bats found in the hobby this 35" specimen is extremely close in dimension to what Williams actually used and is
available at a fraction of the price.
$1750
