2008 Sam Bat Vernon Wells VW10
Offered for sale is a Sam Bat model VW10 used by Vernon Wells of the Toronto Blue Jays during the 2008 season. Vernon is a
2-time All Star and 3-time Gold Glove Award winner. He won a Silver Slugger award in 2003. Wells is a career .282 hitter with
1,263 hits, 182 HRs, and 686 RBIs. In 2008 Wells batted .300 with 20 home runs and 78 RBIs.
This 34", 32.6 oz gamer shows evidence of heavy use. Many ball and stitch marks are visibly concentrated on the left barrel
surface and there are a few cleat scuffs on the backside. The handle has a heavy coat tar/mota stick and a somewhat severe
crack. Even though the crack looks bad I think it would repair well. The knob is marked in silver with Vernon's #10. The barrel
end has the factory marked information for the length (34), weight (32), date of production (3 11 08), model number (VW10), and
factory batch code (8305).
This bat may be photomatched in the next few days. Upon completion of my research, a detailed LOA from Hall of Fame Bats will
be created and will accompany this bat. If available, the complete use history of the bat from beginning to end will be included
along with as many photos of the bat in use as possible. There is no additional charge for this service.
