Offered for sale is a Hillerich & Bradsby model S44 used by Joe Morgan of the Cincinnati Reds during the 1978 season. Morgan
played from 1963 to 1984 with the Colt .45s, Astros, Reds, Giants, Phillies, and Athletics. He retired after the 1984 season a
career .271 hitter with 2,517 hits, 268 HRs, and 1,133 RBIs. He won World Series titles and league MVP awards in 1975 and 1976
and was inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in 1990.
This 34.5", 30 oz gamer shows evidence of excellent use. There are a numerous ball marks and seam impressions visible on the
right and back barrel surfaces. The handle has a light coat of pine tar and is cracked. The knob has Morgan's #8 written in red
marker along with the weight of the bat (31) written in red pen.
This bat is accompanied by an LOA from Hall of Fame Bats.
