Offered for sale is a Louisville Slugger model P72 used by George Foster of the New York Mets between 1983 and 1984. Foster
was a 5-time all star and a 2-time World Series Champion. He was the 1977 NL MVP and 1976 All Star Game MVP. He won a
Silver Slugger Award in 1981. He played from 1969 to 1986 with the Giants, Reds, Mets, and White Sox. He retired with 1,925
hits, 348 HRs, and 1,239 RBIs.
This 35", 32.8 oz gamer shows evidence of excellent use. Numerous ball marks and seam impressions are visible on the right and
left barrel surfaces and there is some very slight grain swelling from repeated contact. The handle has a few light traces of pine
tar and a crack on the backside just below the center label. It has also been scored for grip. The knob has Foster's #15 written in
white along with what looks like a 3. There are no visible markings on the barrel end. Foster has signed the right barrel surface in
silver paint pen and added "MVP 1977".
