Offered for sale is a Louisville Slugger model K44 used by Dave Concepcion of the Cincinnati Reds between 1980 and 1983.
Concepcion was a 9-time all star, 5-time Gold Glove Award winner, and a 2-time World Series Champion. He played from 1970 to
1988, all 19 seasons with the Cincinnati Reds. He retired with 2,326 hits, 101 HRs, and 950 RBIs. He is widely considered
to be the best shortstop in the National League in the 1970s.
This 36", 33.1 oz gamer shows evidence of excellent use. Numerous ball marks and seam impressions are visible on the left barrel
surface and there is some grain swelling from repeated contact. There is also some separation including a repaired portion on the
front barrel that has some of finish removed. The handle has a few traces of pine tar and is not cracked. There are no visible
markings on either end. Concepcion has signed the right barrel surface in gold paint pen.
