Offered for sale is a Louisville Slugger model C271 used by Nick Blackburn of the Minnesota Twins most likely during 2009 spring
training. The bat was made in 2008, but was used in 2009 as it was grain tested and has the TECO stamp on the knob. Blackburn
is 22-24 with a 4.14 ERA over the last three seasons for the Twins. He won 11 games each season in 2008 and 2009. As a batter
he was 0-4 in one game in 2009.
This 33.5", 34.3 oz gamer shows evidence of excellent use. Many ball marks and seam impressions are visible on the left, right,
front, and back barrel surfaces. The handle is cracked and has a light coat of motastick. It has had some of the finish removed for
the TECO ink test to check the slope of the grain for use in 2009 and there is some writing in white paint pen near that area, but
I'm unable to decipher it. The knob has been stamped with the TECO logo only. There are no other markings on either end.
Bats of AL pitchers are extremely rare and this is a fine example from one of the Twins young, up and coming aces of the rotation.
